Cars Q&A

Question
Dear Sir, Car manufacturers claim many high-tech features of their cars, like , providing BS-III / IV norms, ABS SYSTEM, AIR BAGS, CRCA STEEL BODY etc. They do not test all these features in presence of the customers. Do they really test in workshop and confirm? Any Type test? Certainly they do not test individual car. Are they not supposed to issue certificates of all such features which a customer can not check himself but paying high price for it? What is the rule? I shall be thankful for an elaborate clarification on seller's responsibility and customer's right. Thanks, A.K.Ganguly

Hi,
Firstly Manufacturers claim norms after doing various engine testing procedures, crash test, onroad testing etc and get registered with Transport authority.Otherwise not possible to introduce in market. For selling the car manufacturers have to come up with something special in each new car.Thats why they will highlight new features and get public attraction. In some of the cars they will display of passing new norms.

As a customer you can get details of features and get test drive and take decision. As far as Dealers are concerned, they will be taking pre delivary inspection to certify everything is alright with new car. Othe rthan this customers will have the warranty backup for replacement of parts free of cost provided its a manufacturer faults other than accidental repairs
