Hi,
Maruti SX4 is a good car considering competitive price,power.It lacs in creation fineness in body style and hence not so impressive as new City.New City has advantage of even more power, very impressive style combined with fuel economy and hence makes a better choice.
At any time Honda City is a better car than SX4. The biggest disadvantage in SX4 is the side view when you are driving on a curve. The A pillar makes the visibility very bad when turning. Interior is good and spacious but when compared to City, SX4's is okay.
Pricewise, SX4 is almost a lakh and half cheaper than city. mileage wise SX4 will give around 10-11 kmpl in city traffic whereas City gives around 15 kmpl.
SX4 is a good car. The New Honda City, even better.
I owned this car for about a year and found it a good car. very comfortable to drive and a commanding presence too - had no problems. apart from city I also took out for a long trip where I had to encounter really bad roads due to a detour but had no problem navigating.
However the car is a little bulky and will get sometime getting used to it.
