Cars Q&A

Question
Dear Team, I am planning to buy a car. I am confused between the Fiat Linea 1.3 Multijet (Diesel) and Chevrolet Optra 2.0 (Diesel). My daily running is about 70 Kms. Pricing of both the models is not a concern as my budget is upto 9 Lacs. I want car having a good quality, ride & handling, ease of maintenance, service I understand both companies have issues with the parent company. Fiat had an issue with after sales service when they launched in India on the 90's, which had a huge impact on their business and now they have come back with the launch of Linea. How is fiat currently doing in India in terms of business? GM on the other hand has troubles in the USA about filing for bankruptcy & is offering huge discounts on Optra. Please suggest is it advisable to go for any models of Fiat/ Chevrolet Alternatively, Kindly suggest any other car in that price range (Petrol/ Diesel) Regards, Daryl Mathew

Hi,
The onroad price of Optra 2.0 ranges from 10 lac onwards. The Aadvantages of Optra is of its power, smart styling, interior space etc.It cannot be ruled out that with bankruptcy in USA the consumer confidence in GM vehicles is affected.Although GM india is claiming to have sufficient funds with the global recession and bankruptcy of GM in USA is a major setback for sales in India.
Linea 1.3 is haveing good number of goodies to boost sales thanks to its tight pricing which suits best for the features.Service of Fiat vehicles have been improved a lot with tie up with Tata Motors.
Overall Fiat Linea will be good option than Optra.
