I am planing to buy a new car but confused which one yo buy. My preferances are 1) It has to be cheap to maintain.2) Fuel Efficient 3) We are a family of 05. 4) It will be self driven. Now i am driving a second hand Maruti Zen. My choice are i10 Era, WagonR LX, Alto LX,Santro Xing.

Go for the i10 era. I own it personally and it is worth owning. It is spacious, fuel efficient and handles well. Overall a good product as compared to others that you have mentioned.

Go for Maruti ALTO or Maruti 800,preferably new ,but if you
are not having money,then go for True Value products of Maruti dealership in your place,and try for Maruti 800 or Alto.If you have money then New Zen i,e Estelino.
What is the problem of your old ZEN? I have a nine year old Zen in Pune which is very good eventhough my son purchased it new for 4.3 Lakhs in 2000 Dec but now the value is only
80,000 as per Insurance and I may get ONE lakh. You can get it done up with Maruti Dealership of your present Zen, It is the best economic and good decision if I were to take.

Hi Rajib, its wud be recommended that u look at a larger car like the Indica or the Palio or the Getz since its ur second car and also for the 5 member family. U will get used Indica 06 DLS for upto 2 lacs and Getz for around 2.5-3 lacs.

i think you should go for the New A-star or wagonr. the y both are very good cars. good economy as its a maruti product. wagonr is tried and tested and have been running succesfully. and a star is a new car and gud looks , gud engine, great mileage. and its doing preety well in market.

I personally have a Santro Xing Mar 2008 model, but as per my knowledge of cars and also I had driven all of them, GO FOR I10. That is the best among all in this segment.

give the fiat palio a shot as with a family of 5 people you cannot find a more comfortable and solid car then that..m telling by experience coz i own one for the past 4.5 years..gives 15 kmpl in city with ac in delhi traffic conditions..

after reading your questions, i think you are least confused.... Atleast you know what you are looking for. To begin with, the car that you hve is an amazing car. Do not sell it unless you want o use that money to make the down payment for the new car.

Now, over all both Maruti & Hyundai cars are low on maintenance. Space wise, you should go for either go for i20 1.2ltr Kappa engine or the Hyundai Xing. Both are highly fuel efficient and good cars. Five people in a Wagon R wont be comfortable.
