Hi,
It is possible to get Benz of around 1990 in the budget range mentioned. But the average maintenance costs will be on higher side due to spares costs. Nodoubt Benz ads to status quo but the cost of ownership will be quite high. Hence recommended to go for the same if and only if maintenance costs is not a constraint.
i dont know wat is mr. expert's source of information coz in u can get a 1996-97 model e220 in excellent shape for about 4-5 lakhs from one of mercedes-benz's authorised pre-owned car outlets and for all info regarding maintainence costs refer to the april 2009 issue of autocar india where they have carried a buying used feature on this model...this magazine is far more trustworthy than the "wierd" info of the so called auto expert..
Hi, Mr Rohit thanks for your comments.You are right in saying availability of Benz. Yes Benz of 96 available for around 5.0 lac. Regarding maintenance for example, cost of replacement of front bumper will not be less than 40k for Mercedes C220CDI (Source Autocar India).
