Hai,

I was very interested to buy you mentioned ford Ikon,2000/2001 but some technitions advised me spareparts availble most rom coimbatore. I like this car after a santro car

My neighbor who has worked as a technician for 3 yrs in Ford advised me to never go for Ford Ikon as there are end numbers of problems. As per him even after 1st service the car will definitely start giving frequent visit to the service center for one or the other problem. Moreover the parts are expensive so, even for smallest problem you pay big amount. Personally I don't have anything against the car but, I think one should consider ford technician's warning...
Now it's your call after all...

I am an owner of Ford,I would say if you proper checks on engine,and mechanical parts, then there will be no problem.
The car is excellent and a pleasure to drive.Everyone can have different perceptions but I am positive.It all depends how you maintain.

I had a ford ikon. If you are looking for a powerful machine and ready to shell out money maintaining it, then you are in. But over all this machine has a lot of drawbacks, fuel pump, fan belt, steering Box, and last but not the least the entire electical system. The Engine is the Best part. Its powerful and it is dependable. All in all, a 2001 model is not advisable to buy, keeping in mind the regular wear and tear and its expensive parts.

I had recently sold ikon of 2000 model. The driving pleasure of the car was unmatched but the repairing costs were too high. The re-sale value of the car is very hopeless. You can go for it, but please check the position of silencer, fuel pump, steering system.

I got a Ford Ikon 1. 6 in 2001 brand new after 261000 km and 15 years later I am still driving it. I love speed and it is light on feul 17. 2 km per litre at 100 and 11 km at 160.
