Cars Q&A

Question
I own a tata sumo.Engine is overhauled 02 years back, head is replaced, radiator is replaced but engine is getting over heated i.e. temp reaches 100 c when A/c is put ON after 15 Km of running. Is it so that the engine is weak/is not able to bear the A/c compressor load ? Please help me to sort out the problem.

Answers:

Plz use only normal tap water instead of the coolant liquid that you are using. After an overhaul, the engine needs another 1000-2000 kms to settle to normal working. If that has already been done, then use water in radiator as mentioned above. Also get the radiator fan checked for proper working. u might need a higher wattage fan installed. But do not do all this urself, go to Tata service station for best help and insist on the quality of work.

Hi,

The problem can be due to malfunctioning of thermostat or inefficient water pump. Hence please get it checked for the same.
