Hello All, I am planning to purchase a second hand car.I have narrowed down to a 1999 Model Maruti Zen(AC,Power Windows) which have done 60k kilometres. Another option is a 2004 Maruti 800(AC) which has done 12k kilometres. The price for the Zen is 1.30lakhs(I dont know the owner of the car) The price for the Maruti 800 is 1 lakh.(Owner is my relative lady) Both car looks good.No scratches etc. Which do you thinks is the better buy in terms of maintence,mileage and durability.I plan to drive mostly in city and once a year trip to Bangalore(800kms)

as the km done are low , drive by a lady and above all the just 5 years old.......

100 percent go for Maruti 800. the first one i.e. ZEN is almost dead by all means by now after covering for 10 years.

I have one more question.
Will a maruti800 be able to stand a 800km ride to Bangalore.I know its not a car with good level of safety.But will it be able to stand such a long Drive.

No problem.Ihave driven a M800 from Gurgaon to Cuttack,1700kms including crossing the Dudhi river ford and the potholed apologies that pass for roads in Bihar & Jharkhand.No problems at all andthe car did not even grunt

if it is a disel zen go for zen see you hav to look at the comfort also zen is very comfortable but dont prefer if it a petrol zen, one more thing traveling 800 kms in marut800 is really a foolish thing . i sujest u to invest some moor money and get a beter model diesel zen. once again dont prefer 8oo

YOU MUST GO FOR MARUTI 800.
RUNNING 800 KM IN MARUTI 800 IS NO BIG DEAL .I HAVE TRAVELED 1200 KM IN M 800 ALMOST NON STOP FROM DELHI TO SHAHDOL IN M.P. IN ABOUT 18 HOURS AS THE ROAD WAS NOT GOOD.

I have experince with M800 is about 500 KM. I didnot have any problem. But Roads was good. But still I dont think 4 years old car can trouble

As I wrote earlier driving is noproblem at all.The Zen is an older model now out of production and with more mileage.Choose the M800 any day
