Cars Q&A

I would like to have Experts comments on Volkswagen Vento 7 speed automatic diesel. At 13.50 lakhs on road in Delhi, is it worth the price? Alternatively, it it value for money ?. Also, why do volkswagon cars have a very low resale value.

  • Resale value always go hand in hand with cheap spare part as well as availability of service centres with close proximity. In case of Volkswagen those two factors are not favourable. But in terms of technology Volkswagen is one of the best and also 7 speed DSG is very good for hassle free driving. While selecting an automatic it is good to have an option of Cruise Control and I believe the Vento have one. But certainly it's twin Skoda Rapid has one. Cheers

  • Thanks Rajan for your response. Another issue I feel is with Vento is , its very low ground clearance, which is just 163mm. In today's times when company's are increasing the ground clearane levels, Vento still has has not improvised.

  • You are right Rajesh. Most Volkswagen Sedan Cars are of the same low ground clearance which I believe not to compromise on ride quality. With your taste and with 13.5 lakh budjet better go for a medium size SUV but of course all columns are not ticked unless you stretch your budjet. Cheers

  • Expert Hi VW Vento 7-Speed Automatic is indeed a pleasure to own and yes it is total value for money proposition. Resale for VW is fairly decent as compared to other manufacturers like Ford or Chevrolet.
