hi sir, i have a 2007 enfield thunderbird ( electric start )bike which performs great.but it makes a scattering noise from the head.can i reduse the sound and get a clear bullet sound. can u give ur opinion ?

You just need to do two things
1. if possible replace ur exhaust with older royal enfield model
2. keep yory engine clean and leak proof..
if u r in pune then perfect motors is the best place to service

the noise in all probability is the tappet sound, they might be too tight, just loosen them a bit

Please check the valve for gap if the gap is increased in between head and valve it results to scattering noise. Also check the tipet settings. To get the bullet like thump you can change the Mufler for Madras or Indore make.

hi dear,
this is a very common drawback with the bike it is its tappet sound n i think its manufacturing deffect wth thundrbed ,its only reduces the clear thumping exprence but if the bike got sufficiently warm then between 60-70 kmph u wud not notice it much.
