I have maruthi Zen 2001 model when stock(old) rim . want to change tyres 1. Can i go to tubeless tyres , what are the pros and cons of it Or 2. Should i go for tube tyres

  • Expert Hi Ravi. There are no cons for tubeless tyres except for the fact that it costs a little extra than tube tires. All modern cars except a few, offer tubeless tyres as standard features. You should indeed opt for tubeless tires as they are a safer choice.

  • All experts say that tubeless is great. Agreed, easy with puncture repair and running. BUT I have seen most accidents happening with tubeless tyres. The reason is that the moment the rim hits something with force, it ruptures causing instant deflate of the tyre. The result is no control of the steering. Besides, your car is old and the rims are rusty from inside which again is not good to hold a tubeless tyre. My advice, even if you have a tubeless tyre convert it to one with tube (Branded).

  • do not make that mistake. I did that and got in to Problems. the Tyre will not sit right when inflated. At one time rear wheel Tyre gave away with full load in the car. I suggest that you go with tyre with Tube....Sridhara
