Cars Q&A

I own a mahindra bolero slx -2012 m2dicr.clocked over 90,000 kms. I am facing an issue with the rear brake system. @ 40000 while enroute to chennai i changed the rear brake liner from a local workshop reason due to low braking and heavy screeching sound. The workshop men also asked me to polish the drum since it is a new liner and did so.Everything fine but after some 120000 odd kms i experienced a heavy brake lock situation irrespective of speed ,so checked with TVS,trivandrum(ASC) they inspected and showed me that liners are broken apart so got a new brake liner and shoe from then and there i am experiencing the screeching sound while braking.Braking is fine and the car stops well.Recently at 80000 kms service the TVS guys checked and doubt whether the problem could be with the polished hub. Please advice me regarding this.

Answer

  • Expert Hi Shejeer. Getting your vehicle repaired by an unknown local mechanic can lead to problems. Suggest you take your car to a nearest authorized station and get the vehicle thoroughly inspect to identify the cause. Prima Facie it seems like there has been problem with polished drums.
