How do you test the milage of a car within the city?

ya , Mr shivs hsankar is correct , but the thing is ,millage kit is available only for two weelrs nor for four weelrs. i am from maruti suzuki.......

hi , u need to fill the tank first. run 1/4th , again fill the tank run up to fuel end, now kilomtrs /(divididby)ltrs u will get the average ..........

The best method of getting details of mileage of the car is to fit a mileage testing kit ( from a workshop )with one litre capacity and run till end of one litre. KM covered for one litre will be the actual mleage of the car .

Fill in the tank full , Check km. , run till almost over in your normal running & than fill the tank again full. Check total distance covered & than divide my petrol filled to again do full tank.

This is not an accurate way but reasonably accurate. May be within 3 - 5 % range.

If this is done over 2 - 3 times , & averaged out you may be very close to practical figure.
