The noise levels of Honda Amaze though noticeable, wont be too much and within limits.Recommended to take a test drive the same to experience noise level when sitting in the same.

I am assuming you are talking about diesel cars.
Every one is talking about noise level and clattering. - I owe Honda Amaze SMT Diesel and I would say all diesel engines are the same. At every 1700 - 2000 RPM change gear and you wont find any noise

NVH level, Clattering & Mileage : if one drives in one gear for a long time. To reduce the NVH and clattering - RPM meter helps to reduce it by synchronizing the gears as mentioned below, you will feel the difference. It will also increase fuel efficiency. Initially you may find it hard, but once you get the hang of it, you will automatically reduce your acceleration and your car will automatically roll in one gear and eco lite will be constantly on. In this way your gear shifting will reduce. Focus a bit more on RPM and Eco Lite you will get the hang of it. When you shift to 1st gear you can pull your car to 1500 RPM. On 1500 RPM shift to 2nd gear. Then on
every 2000 RPM change gear so you don't strain the engine. Only in climbing you can pull it to 2500 RPM. Most of the time eco lite will be on and average and engine life will be good and the drive will be very smooth.

I THINK THE NOISE LEVEL IN DIESEL AMAZE IS DUE TO BAD INSULATION IN THE CAR.ONE HAS TO COMPROMISE THIS IF HE IS BUYING THE CHEAPEST CAR FROM THE STABLE OF HONDA.YOU WILL NOT FIND SUCH LEVEL OF NOISE LUXURY CARS. AJAY ALL DIESEL ENGINES ARE NOT SAME.DO NOT MISGUIDE PEOPLE

Anurag, I own diesel amaze since a month and I am happy. I need not convenience anyone. if you feel other cars are better then we all have an individual views brother

Answer by Ajay 12 December 2013

AJAY IT IS GOOD THAT YOU ARE HAPPY WITH YOUR AMAZE BUT THERE IS SOUND IN THE ENGINE. EVEN SHIVA AGREES WITH THIS

Answer by ANURAG 12 December 2013

There is bit of noise filtering inside the cabin, however still not deal breaker.
Its the Rocking Motion at startups and shutdowns which feels crude and certainly a bit behind than competitors.
Undoubtedly, Amaze returns 18kmpl in city and around 22kmpl on highways. Its Fuel efficient and powerful too. Though not that pushy feeling of Swift/Cruze/i20 but linear and Quick.

Answer by AD 12 December 2013

AD
Cruz cost 17 lakhs and 2000 cc engine. it is much higher then amaze
Linea is somewhat higher than amaze and their service network has to be worked on. The engine grunt is too good.
swift is a hatch back look of almost the same size and it is a very good car and low in maintenance compare to amaze
i20 for city use is good, for normal highway its good, for Himalayan range it`s not good. See the test drive video on you tube

Amaze have a full level poor nvh.You can hear the engine clatter at all revs and everything as if you are traveling with your window bit open. Compare it with Tavera and reply

Answer by Hari 05 May 2016

Take test drive of Amaze in a silent place. You cannot judge if you do in the heavy traffic and in more traffic noise. You will regret when you travel in highway.

I own Amaze SMT diesel,60,000 kms done....too much of cabin noise.....doesnt seem like driving a car...just like a jeep.....inspite of regularly serviced from Honda workshop.....

Answer by Jogi 07 July 2018

Yes. Honda Amaze Diesel version has noise issues. I had crossed 20000 km . I am working on the wind noise by adding some insulation on all doors and the engine bonnet. Shall update
