Cars Q&A

Dear Friends I have a Fiat Palio 1.2 ELX 2002, the car was overheating and I have given it to the Authorized service centre but they returned it to me after replacing the Thermostat and water pump but within 10 km run the car started overheating and now they say that the radiator is to be replaced, already they have charged me approx 6k and again the budgetted radiator change is 6k, please tell me what could have gone wrong with my car, the hose which connects the radiator to thermostat is comming out and the radiator is cool and engines gets really hot. Please friends give your suggestions for this problem ???

The problem could be due to improper circulation oil , faulty oil filter , oil pump could be the cause (Remedy is to clean / replace). Ask them to try once with flushing or cleaning of radiator instead of replacing . The problem problem seems to be due to scale formation. Service center people could have checked condition of thermostat (Its operation can be checked by putting in hot water ,thermostat opens at 82 degree centigrade.)

  • The problem could be because of lack of circulation of coolantwater. It is very unlikely to have this problem, unless there is lack of circulation. As Shiva said above, get the car serviced properly once and you should have the problem solved.
