Cars Q&A

Hello Shiva, I saw a Ford Fusion petrol 1.6 duratech, full option, 2006 model single owner at Ernakulam. Its with a dealer, the last quote is 2.75. Is it wise to buy a ford fusion, since it stopped production and also wish to know about the maintenance cost. The kms run is 46000. Please advice. Regards Anil

Expert`s comment:

Thuogh there is stoppage in production, maintenance wont be problem due to avilability of spares.
Considering the original cost, usage and probable condition, it will be worth going for the same.

I disagree with going to ford fusion --since resale is not there--even if you get spares.
After two years if you want to sell it -think of how much will you get ?May be less than a lac.If you can afford cash of Rs 2.75 lac add a loan & go for a new car which can be enjoyed for next 5 years . Rest your choice!

One more Good news--Petrol is getting costlier today by Rs 2--so go for a better fuel efficient car.

Best of luck.

POSITIVES-the car has ample space, nice ride and with nice torque and good handling.
NEGATIVES-since the car is of ford and discontinued with 1.6 petrol engine, don't expect its ownership as stressfree.
the car will always be thirsty, spares would be costier as its discontinued and doesn't had good sales initially.

if you are ready to spend this much, then i think going for a new car would be best selection.

Bad idea dude,4 one, ford hav high maintainence cost, secondly, what happened 2 opel,d company got bankrupt n d car prices dropped down drastically. As other people hav suggested,go 4 a new me,it'll b a lot worth. I suggest an i20 or polo which wil b close 2 6 lks 4 a full option.
