hi Shiva shankar, This is my second question to you.
I own a zxi petrol variant of Ford.
Now I face the below issues. Can you please suggest some good ideas to fix them

1. The initial pick up of the car is very very low and not able to instantly pull out when required. (especially in second gear). Any ideas here to improve this.

2 The ground clearance is very low and hits the bottom for even small jerks in the drive way. Can we get this re-adjusted some how. If so how much will it cost.

3. I dont know exactly how to calculate the mileage of the car. How do we do that.
As of now I suspect the mileage is between 10, 10.5 KM / Litre. I have used 2500KM till now. What can be done for this to improve upon mileage.

Thanks in advance.

Ravi

Hi,
For improving initital pick up, apart from ensuring service as per schedule, the fuel supply system needs to be checked.Ground clearance can be increased slightly by modification of suspension system. However this can result in changes in dynamics and hence drive quality.Recommended to test drive any sedan with modfied suspension to get clear idea about comfort and performance. The service center people can help in this matter.Best method to know mileage is to get milege check done with helof measuring jar unit connected to fuel supply and driven for about 10KM and check fuel consumed.Later calculation for KMPL can be done to get mileage of the car at present condition.

Hi
I am keen to fit lpg sequential autokit to my ford figo ( Run around 23000 Km in 15 months). What are the disadvantages? Will pickup get affected ? Will there be any excessive heat up of engine when driving in traffic? What would be the approximate mileage ?

hi ravi,

i totally understand your problem .
i too have ford figo zxi petrol and my brother has ford figo zxi diesel .

i too faced the same problem initially .
i was also troubled every now and then .
then i asked my brother to drive over the small bump while i was standing outside and seeing what was causing the bumpfrom below .

i was surprised to learn that it wasn;t actually any suspension issue at all .
IT IS ACTUALLY THE ORIGINAL COMPANY FITTED HARD PLASTIC "MUD-FLAP" WHICH IS QUITE BIG FOR ITS SIZE AND PROTECTS THE CAR RUNNING BOARD FROM GETTING DIRTY .

It is this MUD FLAP which hits the speed breakers and scrapes on big stones etc.

SO MY FRIEND MY ADVISE TO YOU !
JUST TAKE A SCREW DRIVER AND REMOVE THE FRONT TWO MUD FLAPS !
AND YOUR PROBLEM GOES TO HELL FOREVER !

I did it .
My brother did it .
He is 6 feet 4 inch tall and is over 100 kg in weight .
And we were actually suggested to get its suspension modified for 4000 rs .
He said that Ford suspension is horrible and everyone faces this problem .

WHILE IN REALITY HE WAS LYING .
FORD SUSPENSION IS THE BEST I'VE EVER DRIVEN .

MY PROBLEM WAS GONE .
I have driven my petrol 9000km and my brother has driven his car 16000km in the past one year .

And after that we faced no such problem .
Please tell all ford figo owners you know and help them solve this problem for FREE THEMSELVES .

And Please do not listen to any JERKS and PLease DoNot Modify your suspension in any way !
