Cars Q&A

Question
I want to buy a hatchback .i have 2 questions regarding this:- 1). Whether i should go for a petrol car or diesel car? We drive around 700-800 kms per month..also note that diesel prices in my city are 38 rs/ltr as compared to 59 rs/ltr of petrol..so my inclination is towards diesel as i m ready to shell out the extra 80,000 in the beginning rather than bearing the brunt of increased petrol price later..also if diesel cars are not driven daily,do they create problems in future? 2). of all the hatchbacks,in petrol i have shortlisted ritz vxi and i10 magna(next gen)....in diesel i m confused b/w swift vdi, ritz vdi and ford figo...for me,mileage , after sales service and good resale value are the main requirements.. Although i have already booked swift vdi white with my city's maruti dealer and it will be delivered in january 2011,i m a bit confused as i've heard that a new model of swift will be launched next year so my car will become outdated as soon as the new one is launched....i like ritz but my friends say a lot of bad things about its rear so i dun want to purchase it n listen to their negative comments life long....figo's interiors are great and is a value for money car but i don't trust ford's after sales service...so pls help me out m very confused..i love swift and its performance bt the launching of its new model is forcing me to go against it...tell me the pros n cons of ritz and figo as well n suggest me some other cars with in a budget of 6 lacs.. Hi,
In the price range mentioned and as Swift would be replaced with new version, Better option would be to go for Figo diesel. If prefering Maruti Suzuki cars then worth going for Ritz diesel instead.
