Cars Q&A

I am planning to buy a car for my Dad. He is currently using Maruti Zen VX MPFI Euro II which we bought 10 years back. I have seen Ford Figo, Hyundai i10, i20, Maruti Suzuki Ritz VDi, Swift VDi, VW Polo, Honda Jazz and Skoda Fabia. Following are my considerations. Primarily driven by my Dad who is 65 yrs. now. Average mileage is 750 km/ month Should carry 5 passenger with descent comfort Should have descent boot We are from rural area hence roads are not so good always. My budget can be streched up to 7 lacs Please help me to choose the right machine.

i too fall in same criteria
ok leaving apart

like you have kept your zen for 10 years and your driving is 750kms/month so my advice is to choose a petrol car.

now i want to take out skoda fabia , VW polo and ford figo from your list as they may not promise a long run with economic cost of petrol and maintenance.moreover there diesel engines are better than petrol.

i won't recommend i10 because you should go for some big car as you are buying after 10 years.

honda jazz is too expensive for hatchback segment though you have its budget but .............!!!! nooooo......

you have option of now
maruti's swift,ritz and i20

if you want to stick to maruti's brand as their cars have low maintenance and reliability too so choose between swift and ritz(both petrol)
whose looks,comfort is better

otherwise,i have seen
i20 its great in space all equipped with some good features
and boot among all care is biggest

personally i like i20
but you have to make your mind among

With your budget and requirements, Manza is the best option.
i20 can also be a good selection, but you will have to strech your budget.

Expert`s comment:

In the budget range and usage, probable road conditions etc Indica Vista would be an ideal selection.
