Cars Q&A

Question
HI This Question is related to Hyundai Service. Last month I bought a used Santro Xing (2008) car. As per the CAR service History, last service was done on Mar-2010(18,000 KM). Now the car has finished 30,000 KM. When I left my car for service, they have given the estimated Charges will cost about 7000 + TAX. As he said, Car is good, and it was well maintained, no major repairs required, need to change the oil, required spark plug cleaning, etc..... Here my Question is, How much does it really cost? Do they simply charging as this is a Paid Service? And what should i check while taking the car from the service? This is my First Car and don't know much about these, Please advice

Hi,
When giving estimate they should have mentioned the parts to be replaced and approximate cost for the same.Generally for only paid service and oil chage it wont cost that much for Santro.
While taking delivery they will have to provide bills with details of service done and parts replaced and explanation for same. You can also refere to your owners manual in which the parts to be replaced at 30K Service is given. Also aks them to check if parts replaced are covered warranty/extended warranty if applicable .
In case of doubt you can post question mentioning part replaced or send scan of bill so that we can explain probable reason for the same.
