Cars Q&A

Question
Hi, I own a Bajaj Pulsar 2007 model. I used to maintain my bike very well. I went out for a vacation for the past 5 days. When I came back my bike failed to start in self start/electric start mode :( The horn is also not blowing. But I am able to start the bike using the conventional kick start and its pickup and ride quality and engine sound everything is fine. After a few minutes drive my horn starts blowing. But still there is an issue in the self start. I am puzzled with this weird behavior. I also noticed that the display light dims when I honk the bike but at the same time the head lights are working fine in night. So I couldn't suspect the battery also. An additional information that I came to know is that it rained heavily in the days when I went for vacation. I am based out of Chennai. Please help me out of this issue. Thanks in advance.

Hi,
The problem is due to discharged battery. Please get the battery charged once. If the problem stil persist with self start then the switch connections needs to be checked.

Thanks everyone for giving the valuable suggestions. I took my bike to an authorised dealer today. Actually the problem is dueto the leakage of acid in the battery and one of the terminal output was damaged dueto this. The mechanic fixed the problem with no pain :) Once again thanks to everyone of you.
