Ordinerily there are two type of engine arran - 11014

Ordinerily there are two type of engine arrangemnts in single cylinder engine, 1.verticle (as all bajaj bike have)and 2. horizontal (as splendor or super splendor). what is the advantages and dis advantages of this arrangements?

THERE IS NOTHING ADVANTAGE OR DISADVANTAGE BY VERTCLE /HORIZONTAL TYPE .. IT IS JUST A STYLE OF DESIGN..

Hi,

The mounting of engine depends upon size and type of design adopted by the manufacturer.Advantage of horizonatally mounted engine is that of complete clearance of exhaust gas and hence reduces tendency to knock however the same can not be adopted for higher cc engines. Vertically mounted engines can be mounted easily and also can be used for any capacity engine.
