I go with Pauli Rajput. His suggestions are very correct and one should go for Petrol Version than a Diesal car since his running is very limited. As compared to Petrol and Diesel one save only Rs.1.00/Km. And it is not worth paying 80K to 100K extra to buy a diesel car unless one has surpless money. WIth your constrains, You can look for a petrol sedan or you can buy @ the same price a Indigo Manza diesel which is worth a buy.

Based on the your needs, taste & market-full of models, straight away I can suggest you 2 models. The first is FIAT PUNTO Emotion Pack of diesel version and the another is VW POLO (DIESEL). My suggestion is Punto as i knew in & out of this model(as i am owning) and the waiting period for POLO is 3-4 months.
As far as PUNTO is concerned, it scores the best-in-class style, high safety standards, refined finish, mileage is such that in city ride (15 kmpl), highway @ less than 100kmph (19 kmpl) and highway speed above 100kmph (16.5kmpl).
The power of the car is awesome and inline with best models like Innova, Verna & Swift. The control on highway is the best.
All this can authenticated more if you experience a highway ride on punto.
In short I can say "PUNTO + 3RD ROW SEAT = INNOVA"

U already have swift n i10, so straight away big NO for hatchbacks, coming to fiesta, soon itz gonna update itself, so bad option but good deal for money, for a sedan u need to stretch your budget, take it upto 7.5L n u can look for many more options namely Verna, Xylo, Innova, Scorpio, try something new, If you go for another hatchback I m sure u wl b bore soon....so try out somthing new.

Dear Friend, I've seen your question.Your budget constraints you from buying a high quality used car. See If you would like to buy sedan I suggest you for either skoda or Mercedes Benz
C class (diesel variant) which may be below 2003 to fit your budget. If your can raise your budget to Rs.7,50,000 you can have a very good second hand car which you can buy may around 75000 to 90000 kms. All the best

First of all why do you need a diesel car when you run only 800kms per month.even if you save 2 rs per kms your ultimate saving per month would be rs 1600/ .any diesel car is generally a lac rupees costlier than a petrol car .you will need at least five years to recover the initial extra cost .by that time your car will be having lesser resale value ,plus the extra maintainance and wear and tear of a diesel car ,so i would request the smart experts to stop misleading a person who has asked for help not suggestions which are irrelevant ,just bcoz u dont need to spend something from your own pocket. is it right to ask a person who has already given the limitations of his budget to buy a mercedes ,in my opinion either go for fiesta petrol or wait for vw vento or if you are ready to go for used car go for higher model of honda city or toyota corolla, excellent cars with least trouble.

strongly with pauli rajput.unless the running is about 100 kms the diesel is the choice only.recommending a mercedes or a landcruised is ridiculous.Go for i20 i own it and it is really fun to drive in and around the city

As already stated go for a petrol. Since you have talked about paying heavy price for petrol, Fiesta petrol doesn't suit you as the mileage is not that great. Hyundai i20, VW Polo, or Verna can be a good choice. Fiesta Diesel is a very good option if you like it, it gives amazing mileage and is good to drive too.

If design is not an issue, Huyndai Accent is also a good petrol option, Spares are cheap and readily available as the car has sold in huge numbers. Biggest drawback? has been around for too long, but a good choice nevertheless.
