Question
hi, I would like to change my Yamaha RX135 (1999 Make) to a new bike. I got an offer from Yamaha dealership that they will take my RX135 for Rs.22,000/- if I am opting for a HDFC finance scheme, which requires me for a Initial Payment of Rs. 22,000/ and an 11month EMI @ 2887/-. Will it be adviceable to go for the offer for the YBR110 model. Kindly advice. Tijo J tijojaai@gmail.com

Hi,
Yamaha YBR 110 has the same engine as Alba. You can get mileage of around 50 to 55 KMPL max.Engine is very reliable. With EMI of 2887 you will be paying total of 31757 Rs and downpayment of 22 K Rs. So total cost of owning is 53757 Rs Which seems to be quite high but justify with option of self start which if fitted externally will cost around 7K Rs.
In overall it will be worth going for the same.

IF U MAY PAY WITHOUT SINGLE EMI DEFAULT THAN ONLY GO FOR BANK FINANCE , IF U FAILS TO PAY REGULARLY EMI ,BIKE WILL BE CAPTURED BY HDFC IN FIRST DUE DEFAULT. THAN U CANT REEDEEM UR BIKE WITHOUT EXTRA PAYMENT CHARGE 4000/+ BALANCE TOTAL DUES . SO THINK TWICE .
OR U MAY GO USED 1 ..2 YEAR OLD G5 BIKE @ 25K APPROX..NO TENTION FOR DUES

Hi,
Mr Gautam has mentioned important information.Though finance is available and the amount is suitable for YBR 110, it is equally important to get rid of the loan amount as scheduled or you can go for used bike in the same price of 22k.

I would like to know more about the YBR110 performance also. Will it be adviceable to dispose off the reliable Rx135 just because it became old? Ofcourse the emission normas too will be a problem in the long run isn't it?

Answer by TIJO 08 August 2010

ybr ,,g5 ,, libero ..libro lx.. all r same performance .and yamah bikes r made for long term riding ..so u may go for above any bike just 2 year old and ride for 3 years more without trouble.. but if u r happy with ur 135 than ride it .u may alter some in ur rx 135 like self start@ 3000/ alloy @ 3000/painting work origin or design paitn @ 3000/ engine work 2500/ .. and think why r ur too old bike buying 22000/ because it is a pure gold,,and 1986 model also best running than dont fear for 1999 model
thanks

Dude
My sincere advice.Never ever part with an RX.It is a gem which yamaha had made.Once you sell it you will never get it back.

Answer by SOURAV BISWAS 08 August 2010

100 out of 100 SOURAV. I sold my RX100 which bought for 30000 and sold in an unlucky stage for 12000. Later When I wanted to buy one, It was asking around 22k to 30k for a good condition and maintained yamaha {RX 100} again for a RXG it was asked at 15k to 19k. At last I got a RX 135 fo 18K.

I wanted to say that, you may feel that any other bike looks nice and feel good for now. Once you loose the Rx from your hands, It will be hard to get a good one and you need to spent more. Other than milage [~8 - 10 km max difference, there is no other benefit you arer going get from this deal by leaving this little monster which can climb hills upto 55-60 degrees slope and reach 120-130 kms on plains if fine tuned.

If you really fed up with your bike and really need a new one, go for it, still What Gaotham said is correct. More over check whether, you can get a better price for your Yam since RX 135 hold a good value as good as the old Rx100.

Thanks for everyones kind comments. Yes I still did not get any comfort on parting with my RX135, its rding quality, I could not find anywhere except old unicorn. The mainissue is about finding a good mechanic for servicing it. last year I had shown the machine to atleast 3 workshops but could not resulted in much, even by the authorised servic center, as everyone is interested in 4stroke engines. This is the sole reason for my change, as I want my machine to be free from all problems. any way i have not decided to opt for the 22k offer for new ybr110. I will keep open my options . What about SS125 of yamaha, Mr. Shiv and Gautam?

Answer by GAUTAM JAIN CHENNAI 08 August 2010

Yes, now I had decided to part with my RX135 for Yamaha SS125 or you can say the old gladiator instead of my old choice of YBR110. Because I felt more comfortable with SS125 while riding. Ofcourse I have to cough up another 10000/-bucks. Still I feel I made a tough but not a bad decision to aprt with my RX135.
