What is the difference between a 1.2L 3-cylin - 10594

What is the difference between a 1.2L 3-cylinder and a 4-cylinder engine ? How does it effect fuel efficiency & power? Is VW Polo a good buy considering it has a 1.2L 3-cylinder engine? Thanks.

Answers:

the only concerns of polo are the rear leg room, delivery time and price, if these are not bothering then polo is the car for everyone.
Though polo has 3 cylinders, it has been well (outstandingly) balnced and the engine is fitted to the chasis with a superior foam suspension which takes care of all the vibrations.

Hi,
The advantage of a 2 cylinder engine of same capacity of 4 cylinder engine is that the frictional losses are reduced much and so do size of engine. For the same reason it can give better fuel efficiency than compared to 4 cylinder. However the technology used and quality of manufacture matters a lot in deciding reliability of the same for higher power and load. 3 cylinder engine used in Polo has well proven performance and hence reliable.
