The R15 is a sports-bike (but ofcourse a lesser powered one ). It is not a tourer or a commuter. Hence it would not be suitable for both your needs -city driving as well as long journeys. You may be better off buying one of the following bikes -Hero Honda Karizma ZMR/R, Hero Honda Hunk, Honda Unicorn and Suzuki GS150R. The Karizmas are 225 cc bikes and the other three are 150cc bikes and very comfortable to use in the city. The sitting and riding posture in all these bikes is very comfortable. If you don't mind trading some off the comfort for a more sporty styling, you can consider Pulsar 150/180, Honda Dazzler or Apache 180. If you are not very tall, you can also consider Bajaj Avenger. Tall persons may find it very uncomfortable in city traffic. If budget is not a constraint, then the Karizma ZMR would be my choice.

Many owners of the R15 have come to a costly conclusion that the R15 is "NOT" a commuter bike. In order to do justice to traffic conditions, you need a lightweight bike with a taller handlebar, a straight seat and good economy. For this the Hero Honda Passion Pro is highly recommended. The surprise element here is that many highway riders too prefer the same bike because of rock solid stability and bullet proof reliability. Surprised ! But its true.
