i had a swift petrol, due to its high fuel consumption , i would like to install a CNG kit, but i heard that cng does not have pick up and in the long run it sucks the engine performance, is it true, i am currently working in new delhi in a ad agency, your views please

Hi,
Fitting CNG kit to Swift is a tough decision.Though there is advantage over cost of fuel and mileage.The main factors to be considered are the initial investment of over 40k and total cost per km. Also the pick up would be bit less compared to that with petrol usage.
Considering overall factors going for CNG would be effective if usage is around 2000 KM or so per month and planing to sell after few years.

I SOLD MY SWIFT ZXI 2007 BECAUSE OF LOW MILEAGE AND EVEN AFTER FITTING CNG THE RUNNING COST WAS TO THE TUNE OF RS 2/-PER KM.SINCE NOW THE COST HAS BEEN INCREASED BY 7RS./KG IT IS IMPRACTICAL TO SWITCH OVER TO CNG.YES INVESTING 35K FOR CNG SEEMS KEEPING IN VIEW THE LONG QUEUES AT CNG STATIONS AND MOREOVER YOU CAN NOT REMOVE/RETAIN THE KIT IN CASE YOU WISH TO SELL YOUR CAR AS PER LAW.I AM ALSO IN DELHI AND IN CASE RUNNING EXCEEDS 3000KMS/MONTH GO FOR THE DIESEL VARIANTS LIKE SWIFT VDI,RITZ,PUNTO OR INDICA VISTA WHICH ARE RUNNING ON SAME ENGINES FROM FIAT AND PERORMANCE IS MINDBOGGLING.

Mr singh what was the mileage after CNG fit in ur swift. I think u can easily save 505 at current CNG prices also.Moreever CNG will run better in higher power cars as power loss is less felt.
