Volkswagen recently revealed a three-wheeled scooter which can be folded and easily fit into the trunk of a car. The electric scooter operates like a Segway and the company claims that it will have a range of close to 20 km. It is designed to transport people from far-off parking lots to their final destination. It will also be very useful for huge congested markets.
The electric scooter will go on sale in 2016 and will cost around 1,000 Euros which roughly translates to Rs. 70,000 with current exchange rates. It will be powered by a lithium-ion battery and the whole vehicle weighs just 11 kg. The name “Last Mile Surfer” simply implies that the vehicle is made for the last mile that people have to walk from parking lots to their final destination. Volkswagen wants to take away the least amount of physical labour we are forced to do and make us even lazier.
